On the interview day you need to be ‘registrar ready’. This means you need to be talking the talk as if you are the registrar oncall. You need to have a good working knowledge of the common orthopaedic emergencies and elective cases. You should be able to discuss their management competently. This section will offer you a template to the information regarding the topics, but really you need to have been out and about on the oncall take, the wards and in the elective and fracture clinics to gain adequate exposure to this. Just remember that in this station you are the registrar, talk and act like one!
Also bear in mind this this only represents a small (but potentially pass / fail) section of the interview. Do not neglect preparing for the list planning, presentation skill, communication skill and technical skills stations.
